Bellarine Agricultural Show
Portarlington Recreation Reserve, Cnr Sproat St and Boat Rd, Portarlington

This rural show is another big event on the Portarlington calendar. Drawcards include livestock exhibits, carnival rides, baby animal farms, showbags and pony rides. The one-day event is held during the Labour Day weekend in March.

See kangaroos, koalas, wombats and dingoes during a trip to Jirrahlinga, a haven for distressed animals. Unlike a zoo, the sanctuary features more intimate exhibits, giving kids the opportunity to see the animals up close. The Sanctuary is a 30-minute drive from the centre of Queenscliff.

The Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre teaches visitors all about the plants and animals that inhabit Victoria’s coastal regions. During the school holidays there are fun daily activities like animal feeding sessions and field trips to nearby rock pools and fish nurseries.
